What is a Rolling Road?
The technical name for a rolling road is a chassis dynamometer. This device is used to test vehicles by simulating the driving conditions of a real road.
A vehicle is parked on top of the drive rollers, which are then turned by the car. The dynamometer then measures the output of the vehicle and displays results such as RPM, horsepower and torque.
Some newer models are capable of much more than this, however. Dyno tuning can help to provide a vehicle with optimal fuel consumption and power output, ultimately resulting in a smooth run.
What is a Dyno Cell?
A dyno cell is a dedicated room that houses a rolling road and other necessary equipment for engine testing/tuning. They help to provide proper ventilation from vehicle emissions, improve acoustics and reduce the level of sound output caused by the engine.
